Reeftech Prometheus LEDs

I have a Reeftech Prometheus 2011 unit on my new 93 cube (30 x 30 x 24). I have a feeling that I might have be running the LEDs a little too bright. What percent do others with the same units run their LEDs at?

My unit is about 12" above the top, and had it running at 50% W 80% B 95% RB. At least one of my sps frags, up at the top, lost some of its purple coloration at the tip. I dropped it down to 45% 75% 75% yesterday just in case.

Many people start out around the 30% range.

well..when you say 2011 model you mean the small square one? If so I have that one and run it at 100% across the board no problems..have been running it like that for over a year.

if by 2011 model you mean the newer model ( i got my newer model in the 2001 calendar year, but guess its called the 2012 model?) I ran that one at 100% across the board but now have it only do that for about 2 hours then it goes down to 100 blues..and 30 white

Yes, small, square, and white. Random picture I found on google of the version I have - Reeftech. I had it running on the tank for over a month at 50% 80% 95% with little to no problems but I guess I can dial it back a little and see how things do. Thanks.

If you're not having problems I would not dial it back. After a month what damage was going to be done has been done and the coral should be just fine at that lighting level. Acclimation only works when you first put the lights on. If everything was bleaching then I would say turn it down. Since stuff is not I would leave it be.

Okay. The frags I got came from a tank using the newer 2012 units so I wasn't that worried about acclimation. Now I'm wondering if my roaming BTA had a run in with the frag in question and caused it to lose some of its color... Thanks.
