Refractometer calibration

well when i first did the 35 i was pretty for off when i checked my tank so thats when i checked with ro/di so i adjusted again to 0 then checked the 35 and it was pretty good so i dont know if that is normal or if i just didnt get enough fluid on the first time ? but what i need to know is if i check at 35 with saline and 0 with ro/di i should be good to go ?

Why are you still messing around with RO/DI? It's irrelevant.

Measure the calibration fluid.

Then measure your tank water.

The two readings should match. It doesn't even matter what the markings on the refractometer say, as long as the readings match.

The End.

I'm confused, you calibrated to 35, then calibrated to 0 with rodi, then with the calibration fluid again it read 35?

Yea that makes no sense. Sounds like messed up somewhere, possibly contaminated solution or improperly cleaned refractometer.

ok i just wanted to make sure because both my tanks are doing good but my reading after calibration is about 36 so my tanks are a little high

36 ppt is a tad high, but not enough to be a problem. I probably would lower it a bit, but I'm borderline OCD on such matters.
