refractometer vs hydrometer

I mentioned what I did b/c I thought the same thing about my tank, salinity too high at like 1.027 and brought it down to 1.024 to see if that did anything. Didnt do anything whatsoever. Has it made a big difference for anyone else looking at this thread? I'm curious also if that 'small' of a change would affect all LPS, etc in a tank, and not even just a few if any.

I live in the northeast, and I have well water at my house.

No chloramine, however it is high in MG typically & my tank runs in the 1,300-1400 level.

I like that hydrometer! ....only down side is if you are making several 5 gallon batches of water it's going to get a bit messy...
 
Just get yourself one of those $7.99 floating GLASS hydrometers and call it a day... They've been around for years on end & then some... They're only broke when U R. ;)
