Hello everyone,
I am working on a plan for a build and I have been tossing around a few thoughts. I'll add drawings to this post later but I wanted to throw a few questions out there.
The tank I am getting from my friend is about 5'x2'x2' I think. I have never actually measured it I don't think that is really important but lets say it is about 150 gallons. I am wanting to take 2x40 gallon breaders one will about a 1' above the other. In the top one I am going to plant 30 mangrove trees and miracle mud it will have 1/2 the over flow from the Main Display tank. The mangrove 40 breeder will over flow into the other 40b w/ only chaeto in it. The other half of the overflow will go into a 100g rubbermaid stock tank and that is where i'll have my skimmer, media reactors, heaters etc.
Now the questions.
1) since I am going to have such a large fuge will i need a skimmer rated for
the same gallons or can i go a bit smaller since the fuge will take a lot of
the nutrients out of the water.
2) Will i still need to replace the miracle mud every year since i'll have
mangroves planted in it?
2b) Do I actually put the roots of the mangroves in the miracle mud?
