I have a 20L that i'm turning into a fuge for a 40B. what thickness glass should i use and what should i have them cut to. the inside measurements front to back are 11 7/8" and my skimmer range is 7-9" 8" optimal so i'm looking at that 8" height for my skimmer. also would like to know the space between baffles and height off the bottom. if anyone has a good link i would love that too.

thanks, mike

Baffles of 1/4" offer better strength.
Find a shop that can cut & finish the edges for a cheap price.

Otherwise, this is kinda' a basic layout-

1rst baffle 10" high with 1" bottom gap.
(If skimmer requires less water depth , then a platform for the skimmer can made, to make up the difference.)
1" bubble trap
2nd baffle..about 8 in. or so. (Siliconed to bottom)

3rd baffle about 8" also. (Siliconed to bottom)
1" Bubbletrap
4th baffle approx. 10" with 1" bottom gap.

I myself did a 2" bubbletrap before the return pump..to minimize chance of micro bubbles from reaching Display Tank.

You need to also decide whether your pump will be located in the center chamber, (or) side / end chamber?
(That effects the baffle layout & bottom gaps)

Do as most do....
research...research....research.
Then build.

Good luck
