Refugium Sizing?

I have a 90 gallon tank with all fish right now. As soon as I get my nitrates at 0 I want to being doing some corals.

Anyways I plan on putting a refugium in on my system using a 10gallon aquarium and putting cheato in it. Will a 10gallon be a waste of time? Do I need to try to squeeze a 20long in under my tank? I am planning on gravity feeding it to my sump. Any suggestions?

I think just for a fuge a 10 gallon would be a good size. If you can squeeze in something bigger then that would be gr8.

I built a sump/refugium out of a 29g for my 90g display. The refugium section is about 12"x12"x14" which comes out to just under 9 gallons, and it's been sufficient in keeping my nitrates at 0. Based on my experience, assuming your 10g will be all refugiun, it should work well.

But go bigger if you can!
