Hello
I recently set-up a 10 gallon sump under my 55 gallon FOWLR tank. The tank is doing well except for some hair algae and high Nitrates. It has been up and running for about 17 months. The stand I am using is one of those standard 55 gallon metal stands with a spot underneath for a tank or two. I have two 10 gallon tanks underneath. I made one of the 10 gallons into a sump, and I want to turn the other into a refugium. I bought a CPR 300 gph overflow box for my main tank that overflows into my sump. Should I run the main tank overflow into the refugium and then into the sump?? I take it I will need to raise the refugium tank up a bit, so it can overflow downward into the sump. If so, I guess I need to drill a whole in the side of the refugium to overflow into the sump...Right?? Where do I get a glass cutting drill bit?? What size hole should I drill?? And what size PVC do I need for 300 GPH flow?? Any other ideas on the setup, please let me know. Sorry for all the questions, I just want to do it right. THANKS!!!
