Regal Angel Primer

Is it true that Red Sea Regal angel is more yellow with yellow chest, while Regal angel else where is more orange yellow with greyish blue chest?

Just picked one up. Joining the club and hopefully stay in the club. There are two in the store I picked the one that's a little more active and swim in front. After a brief acclimation (I matched salinity) he is in a 40 breeder now. First day of QT. He is already picking at the live rock and swim about. Not shy at all. Actually swimming to the front when I get close to the tank. But not eating. I will start trying various food tomorrow.

So what should I do now medication-wise. Do I need to do anything at all if there is no sign of disease? I have prazi but I usually don't treat new fish.

Here a pic of him with the light off.

Regal Angel Primer

I posted this elsewhere, but posting here to target regal angel owners.

I've had a Regal for about 6 months. He's quite mature, I'd say 6-7".

Does great, eats really well.

My problem is he's aggressive to newly added fish, I didn't really realize how bad it was until I added a Multibar this week.

Now I'm paying attention, he is aggressive towards the butterfly I added in November, but the butterfly just shrugs it off.

What does everyone think to removing the Regal, placing him in the QT for a week or 2, and then putting him back in the DT.

Will he respond like a newly added fish and will it squash his aggression to the butterfly and multibar?

Don't want to remove him and do all this, and it have no effect, so asking for your advice here.

Does anyone have a bad experience adding a 2nd regal to their tank? I came across a beautiful misbar that I've had in QT for a couple weeks and would like to add it to my display in about 3-4 weeks. I will be using an acclimation box to try and gauge any aggression between the two. Any thoughts?

Go back a few pages and a couple years and you will find mine along with others who added a second and a third Regal to there tank.

That's definitely my biggest concern. I'll monitor closely over the next few days and decide from there.

If you start noticing shredded fins or ich it is definitely time to do something. Adding several angels together is always tricky (unless your Humaguy/Ted)

After three weeks of eating clams on the half shell then getting him onto frozen clam strips that I attach to a clam shell my Red Sea Regal Angel finally ate some PE Mysis and is now picking at purple sea veggies. Glad too because all those dang clams and strips we're bringing my nitrates up.

I was playing with the idea of that yesterday. My rockwork makes it tough. What's the material you used?

Thought about using egg crate

Here is my Regal this AM with cell phone. I also took a picture of my 320 DT where he is living in
