Regal Angel. Red spot with cotton growth on fin

Yes. Get it ASAP, and use as directed for saltwater (usually double the dose for freshwater).

I get off at 4 and will be heading directly over there. I am assuming I should discard the water in the tank now? Will not be an issue because I use water from my system so DT and QT params are identical at all times.

Can you respond to the quote above. I caused you to miss it with the Goldberg comment.

Here is the directions from Fosters. Does not differenciate between fresh and salt.

Active ingredients per packet: 664 mg Sodium Sulfathiazole, 168 mg Sodium Sulfamethazine, and 168 mg Sodium Sulfacetamide per packet.

Directions for use
For best results, remove activated carbon or filter cartridge from filter and continue aeration. For each 10 gallons of water, empty one packet directly into aquarium. Repeat dose after 24 hours. Wait another 24 hours then change 25% of the aquarium water. Repeat this treatment for a second time, for a total of 4 doses. Then, make a final 25% water change and add fresh activated carbon or replace filter cartridge. Treatment may be repeated if necessary.

Cool, now understand that you're going to have to do regular (at least every other day) partials to keep the water straight, and add back the meds you take out with the water changes. So buy as much as you can because you're prob going to use alot of it.

Perfect. See above.

That will not be a problem. My water is medicated with fungus cure. Should I discard the medicated water? It should not shock the fish because temp, salinity, and PH are all identical from DT to QT

I wouldn't worry about that. Just get the right stuff in there. The fungus stuff will eventually make it's way out of there with the regular water changes since you won't be adding anymore.

Thanks a lot. I am due for my water change today (I have already been doing them every other day) So I will do the change, then put the Triple Sulfa in. Hope this works out. So far this fish seems pretty tough for a Regal. They usually go down fairly quick, IME. Of course my experence has always been starvation or swim blatter issues with these fish.

Yea, if you can keep him eating he's got a fighting chance.

Boost the circulation as much as possible.

He is still eating well. I have a Koralia 1 in a 20 long for circulation. I can add a maxijet 1200 if you think it will help.

Well, you don't want the tank looking like a toilet flushing, but there should b enough diffuse flow to keep things moving. O2 levels drop when meds are introduced to the system, in most cases. I'd say add it. If it looks like he's having a hard time navigating, or if the temp jumps too much, then pull it back out.

Yea, that's what I'm saying. Once bacterial infections take hold it they go geometric in no time. That's why I was saying that u didn't have much time.
