regal tang

I got a regal from a locale reefer that had been in rough shape its fins have been niped down and has patches of color missing from his head.

I have him in QT tank When I brought him home I gave him a small fresh water dip 1 min.

He is eating really well and swims around like normal.

I just want to give him every chance to recover.

What meds if any should I be using

I was reading about melafix and pimafix

Any other sugetions?

sorta looks like tha but not totally.

Also the tank he was in had a lion fish not sure if its maybe that he was being stung constanly or not.

My hippo tand had the same thing, though not as bad as you described. There was a patch of color gone from the side of his head. I started using a nutrient gel called gel-tek on my nori sheets (the gel also boosts the immune system). The spot regained its color and you can't tell it was ever there! Make sure your tang gets the proper nutrients as nutrient defficiency can cause head and lateral line erosion.

Not sure what his diet consted of before I got him but by the look of him it wasn't the right diet

I have him on formula 1&2 as well as nori and some frozen food as well.

he is acting and eating really well so hopefully he will come out of this in good health.
