Regal Tangs

You shouldn't even have on regal tang in a 100 gallon tank considering that fact that they reach over 12''

I had mine in a 92 corner with my yellow tang for over three years and still have them in my 180. The regal is over seven years old now. You can do it just donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t get huge fish. When I got mine he was only an inch long and tank raised. It will be fine for a while, you may want to sell one eventually when they get larger.

Are there any issues keeoing more than one regal tang in 100Ga tank.

Russell

No, but they will grow. About 4 Years ago I bought 4 (about the size of a small quarter). Well 2 survived and lived in my 100 till last year. Had to move them to my 120. Moved one and traded one to LFS. Still have that one---a little more then 5inches long now.

i have yet to see one that is even close to the 12inch size i think in aquariums 7-8 max. if you can keep a fish for 4 years before you have to move it. then i would go for it. thier are people out here all the time with big tanks looking for a 7-8 inch fish and willing to give you what you paid for it. to enjoy a fish for 4 years is a long time. thats just my 2 cents.

Jus playing devils advocate.
Considering that, they should not even be sold.

they are nice looking fish, I agree with above that your best chance to keep two would be introduced together and I would not worry about outgrowing your tank until it happens, like others stated sometimes they may grow to large to house two

You can get tank raised ones from somewhere, The Hidden Reef had them on occasion in my area. They arenââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t collected from the wild and have been exposed to less stress. They have a better survival rate and are usually very small about the size of a quarter. You will make money if you sell one when it is large fat and healthy, anyone with a large aquarium will jump at the chance to get a perfect, large tank raised regal tang!
