Regional Club Frag Swap – It’s on!!!!

Hi everyone,

I have great news!

We now have a sponsor for the Event. Reef-Nutrition www.reefnutrition.com has agreed to take part in our Frag Swap. Reef-Nutrition is, of course, a division of locally owned Reed Mariculture, makers of Marine Larviculture & Aquarium Feeds. I’m sure many of you are already familiar with their wonderful products like Phyto-Feast, Roti-Feast, and Arcti-Pods.

I would like to thank Gresham for his unwavering support of reef clubs and hobbyists.

We’ll now be able to hold a raffle for some great prizes. We hope to include as prizes, a combination of reef products, equipment, and live corals and inverts.

Just a recap, the Regional Club Frag Swap will be held on Saturday, November 4th, 2006. This will be a lunchtime event, and the banquet hall will be available to us from 11am to 4pm.

The event will be held at:

Reef-Nutrition’s sponsorship has allowed us to apply a blind discount to the cost of the meal. Now, lunch will be $10.00 per attendee (tax + gratuity included). Again, the 3 chosen menu options are:

Steak Sandwich with Fries
Chicken Marsala with Rice
Lasagna

Each entrée includes salad, bread, and either coffee or iced tea. Soda or alcoholic beverages will have to be purchased by you separately.

*There's also a vegetarian entrée available, but we are limited to only 5 of these.

We will still need a minimum of 50 attendees for the event. Only this time, you’ll have until the October 21st deadline to submit your advance payment. As of now (although, not set in stone), I will need to set an attendee cap of 60 total, so please don’t hesitate and reserve your spot now.

If for some reason, you are not able to contribute frags but would like to make picks at the swap, there will be a ‘Buy In Fee’ of $15.00.

Please send your payment for lunch and the Buy In Fee to my PayPal address: karlitosway@gmail.com . Please don’t forget to include your menu choice. For those of you who have already sent payment, I will refund the difference to you ASAP.

This will also be a Charitable Event. After the bill with Vince’s Ristorante is paid in full, whatever proceeds remain from the raffle and Buy In fees will be donated to a Holiday Charity (please feel free to make any suggestions).

There will be a signed copy of the new end all be all Clam Bible in the raffle :D This is a VERY good book and a must have if you have a clam.

I can help with a greeting table, take buy-ins, sell raffle tickets and get name tags for everyone.

If that's already handled, then please let me know how I can help.
 
Ok a bit of a confusion Karl... you say you need 50 to reserve the place but an attendee cap of 60? So only 60 people total can go to the frag swap? *confused*
 
We need a minimum of 50 attendees to be able to utilize the banquet hall. Right now, I'd like to set a cap at 60 max, since anymore than that will put us in the red. I'd like to donate as much as possible to Charity.

The blind discount from Gresham and Reef-Nutrition is what's allowing us to buy down the cost of lunch to $10 for everyone. We will still be paying the restaurant $13.25 per.

Well hot damn you two. Sounds like I have absolutely no excuse not to go :D The reservation timing is what kinda put me in a crunch, the new reservation definately solved my personal dilema. I'll shoot the funds immediately to you after I deposit my check Karl, thanks again guys, well done!

Kudos to reedmariculture, I already liked the outstanding products, now Im really liking the company!Outstanding!:)

Ahh 60 max on the food portion, so more than 60 can come to the swap proper? Or no? I'm just wondering since it seems like putting a cap of 60 people at the frag swap will leave a small swap, since people are more than likely bringing significant others, and maybe even deligated to baby sitting duty that'll leave a handful of people bringing junk.
 
Umm Mike, if we're having trouble getting 60, what makes you think we'll go over 60?

No doubt about it, it's going to be smaller the a typical "club" swap, but IMO Karl wasn't trying to put together some large swap.
 
Unfortunately, to attend the swap, you need to purchase a meal. So, the 60 is pretty much all we could afford, really.

I don't expect it to be as big as the BAR swap or anything. Half of that turnout will be very nice, though.
 
If we do get to a point where more than 60 would like to attend, we could require those from 61 and up to pay the full price of $13.25.

So, the first 60 that send in their advance payments get the $10.00 discount price.

Just so everyone gets a shot, I won't buy mine until 10/21;)
