Regional Club Frag Swap

Hello MARS and RARE Members,

As some of you may have heard, the MARS Frag Swap that was originally planned for October, has been cancelled. In cooperation with the MARS BOD, the purpose of this message and poll is to see how much interest there might be for a Regional Club Frag Swap this Fall in the Sacramento area. I will be posting identical threads in the surrounding RC Club Forums (RARE, BAR, NVR, CVR, SEABay, and MARS).

The poll and replies will help us determine if we’ll need a small venue, large venue, or no swap at all. By the end of the week, I will peruse each thread and consult with other members on what should be done. I hope to be able to launch the event in late October or early November.

In different ways, the past few months have been rough on the aquarist community. Whether it’s due to a tank issue/loss or the shuffling of your club’s governing body, like the inhabitants we care for, we try to adapt. I want this event to allow you to take a deep breath, and enjoy one of the reasons why you got into this hobby.

Seeing new or familiar faces, sharing the fruits of our labor, and learning all over again why each of us enjoy growing sticks, plates, buttons, and wavy things in our boxes of water.

thanks karl. we are a new club with only a hanful of members right now.but i know ther would be at least six members that would like to see the frag swap happen.so hopefully we can get one going.chico also has a reef club so if you wanted to contact them and see if they would like to atend or i can ask them and let you know.here is ther website chicoreefclub.com.

I'm part of RARE and very new to the whole hobby. Right now I am lacking many things on my tank, but working on it slowly, and after my minor crash and burn a lot of the frags I have from the alameda swap, and a couple that were given to me, have all gone the way of the dodo's.

My Xenias <one of my favorite piece> were doing great, then with the tank treatments I was trying, and messed up they all melted away. Alone with most of my other basics of kenyas, and leather trees. My brown polyps and my ricordia and shrooms seem to be the only one recovering.

So I am up for a swap meet to replace some of my loss. Ofcourse since I just killed most of my stuff, I don't really have anything to swap, so if we get enough people to make a "buy in" possible it would be great, other wise I might have to just buy a few small frags to bring down.

There's a magic number I'd like the total positive votes of all the polls to meet by the end of the weekend. It it's a go, then I can start narrowing down a venue.
