REMINDER!!! Elkgrove Tank Tour is THIS Saturday!! (Nov 3rd)
MARS TT Round 2 (Elk Grove and surrounding area)

See the other thread for details...
Please reply to this thread if you plan to be there..

Wife still says I can go, so hope to be there.

For all people that reply to this thread going on the TT, please note if you are interested in going somewhere for dinner afterwards.

Ed has suggested Mikunis. So if you want to go out for dinner as a group afterwards, please say so and vote Mikunis or 'Other'. Please make a suggestion if you prefer 'Other'.

Thanks.

I'm in for the TT, but not dinner:( The wife has decreed that I will already be gone for too long that day, and I need to watch the kids and give her a break!!! Sheesh!

Not going on the tank tour, but if you are going for sushi afterwards (kinda ironic) go to Kru on J st...it's 10x better than Mikuni..

trust your sacramento dining junkie!

I am going to the tank tour and am up for Mikuni's. I prefer to go there because the last couple times I have been told "better than Mikuni's" I have not agreed.

Two things:

Where do we meet?

Do we need to RSVP? I haven't hit Jenee up for the 'time off' yet -- Like jtarmitage I would be expecting her to ride herd on the kids by herself.

LOL. Yes, you do!!! Kids=herd, as in cattle, sheep, etc. Riding herd=cowpoke in charge of maintaining said herd.

ride herd? huh? Do I need to be a parent to understand this?

I am a parent and I have no clue what he is talking about.

You guys need to watch some more old westerns.
:)

The kids can, and do stampede like a herd of animals.
The person in charge of keeping them from doing this, is usually riding a horse tending to the "herd"

Thus the term Riding the Herd or Ride Herd
;)

Please... I want to go but I NEED an address to the first stop.
It is Friday afternoon and have no idea where to meet.

Just curious....Why aren't your wives and kids joining you? Especially for dinner! Will I be the only one "riding herd" while on the tank tour? And if your wife doesn't want to go - what about giving her a break and bringing the kids along to see all of the cool fishies? There will be lots of kids toys when you all get to my house and my 2 year old loves having other kids around!

If this is supposed to be boys day out....sorry to ruin it for you, but we like the cool aquariums too! :)

See ya all soon in Elk Grove! If you are really nice I just might make cookies for you.....we'll see....

Pete... Your wife is loose again and causing problems. If you can't control her, you won't be allowed to come to the all male Barbarian club with us for dinner :D!!

BTW Darcy... If I bring my kids to a 4 hour tank tour they will be bored stiff after about 5 minutes and I will chase them for the remainder of the time. I bring them with me often but this is not really in THEIR best interest or mine either. They like the fishies for a few minutes then are asking, "Can we go home now?" On that note... can we spend a little less time at each house? I know there are some great tanks but 45 minutes to an hour seems like overkill. I will certainly see if my wife wants to come to dinner though. That is as long as she is done cleaning up the house and doing the days daily baking

you guys gotta trust me, this is what I do for a living essentially! Also, Kru just won the Sushi Master's Championship for the state of California..out of the 100 contestants in the entire state, Billy (owner of Kru) took it home...Lets just say Mikuni was there and they got their *** handed to em ;)

yeah, I would stake my name on it being 10x better than Mikuni...!!!

Ah-Ha! A funny guy! :p

So how many people should I expect to see on this tour? I can't seem to follow who is coming and who's wives wont let them. ;)

Mikuni is really easy to get to here in Elk Grove and really close to the freeway....Just a thought.
