Remora Pro Microbubbles after 2 weeks?????

I have an Aqua C Remora Pro with Mag 3 as my skimmer. It's been up and running now for 2 weeks and I still have some microbubbles. Anyone know the reason for that? I knew it would take time for the skimmer to break in and expected that, but I didn't expect it to be this long. Before I hooked it up to my tank, I soaked the skimmer in luke warm water for 24 hours.

I don't have the prefilter box yet, but I am getting it sent to me this weekend, so I assume that will help.

Also, I find this odd, this is the only skimmer I have used where this is the case. In order for the Mag 3 pump to work on the skimmer, the way it is placed on the skimmer, the intake is located directly under where the water is being spit back into the tank. I thought this was odd at first, but I followed the directions, and I even tried to set it up another way, but the Mag 3 pump is just too massive. I can not get the pump to point any other direction other then towards the output valve. If I point the pump any other direction, I can not get the pump to hook up to the skimmer. Is this right?

I am still getting a dark brown skimmate, although it appears to be skimming slower then my old skimmer (although my carpet is dry so I will take what I got with the Remora).

Any thoughts???

I have the same unit on my quarantine tank and it always produced microbubbles because they escape from the bubble chamber. AquaC knows this is a problem for many people so they sell the preskimmer box. If you purchase the preskimmer box made for the skimmer and pump by AquaC (it is cheap-30$) it will eliminate all the microbubbles. Hope this helps

Ok, so the pre-skimmer box should help. That's good. I got that coming. What about the pump? Does it seem odd to anyone else that the intake pump would be located directly below the output opening?

Many people complain about the pre-skimmer box always running dry because of water evaporation. If you want to avoid that problem, you can purchase a small specimen container from Lees and drill holes in the bottom. This removed most of the micro-bubbles for me when I used the Mag 3. However, since going to Mag 7, I notice more are escaping into the tank. I may have to put in a sponge.
