Remote water storage...

Has anyone set up a system where you could keep stored salt water at a site in the house remote from the aquarium, with a pump/hose system to allow it to be pumped to the tank? Just sort of thinking out loud here. Just purchased a house with a great spot for a tank, but the room is down a step from the rest of the house, which will make using a moveable container problematic. I'm thinking storing salt water in a utility room, and having a pump with enough hose to be able to pump it into the room where the tank is on the other side of the house. Similarly, something to be able to pump waste water out of the tank and to a drain located in the same utility room.

Any and all ideas appreciated!

My 55g topoff/waterchange barrel is in the basement. I ran 3/4 pvc up to the tank and use a mag18 to move the water for me.

Lots of people do those types of things. It just depends on how much you want to take it on. You can set up a permanent ATO from a remote location, Potentially an Automated Water change system, or you could simply roll out a hose when you want to move water from point a to point b. Lots of possibilities.

My tank room is in the basement and I keep my water change and top off cans in the utility room behind the tank. I drilled a hole in the wall and ran the lines to my sump.

Mix / Storage tank under the basement stairs. I put the QT there as well. PVC hard plumbed to to WC to the DT and the QT.

Nice living room set up. How the hell did u get the tank flush on an outside wall like that?
