removing coraline from front glass

I have too much coraline growing on my front glass. I bought one of these Kent scrapers (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produ...artial&Ntk=All&pc=1&N=0&Ntt=kent scraper&Np=1)
and it turned out to be a waste of $17.00. I have tried to scrape with a blade and that works but is extremely time consuming and strenuous to reach near the bottom of the tank to scrape off the build up. Is there any quick easy way to clean up my front glass. Any critters will eat this for me?

If you don't want coralline, a sea urchin will do the trick. But if you want it on your rocks, then if you use a magnetic algae remover on the glass often, it won't be able to take hold. I do that to the front and occasionally scrape the rest.
 
Just a plain razor blade will work great. Then daily magnet cleaning will keep in check. You will have to use the razor monthly for under the SB and edges but it all part of reefing. I think your in the newbie to moderate experianced transition. Welcome aboard fellow reefer.

Its one of those products that actually work better expected. They work well on the large size mag float as pictured.

Nice tool but not sure if it would remove coraline alone. It takes some pressure and on the seams you want to becarfull not to dig into the silicone.But for regular maintance may work real well. Though my magnetic cleaner will scrape off coraline in its early stages.
 
Yes, but I've never used it. For some reason, my wife decided it is "her" job to do it LOL. It works really well. I wish I could use it on the back glass.
 
I use something like this its called a paint scraper almost same thing and hardware stores sell it for $4.00 better then 12.95
 
Yeah, but is it just the perfect shape, size, angle to glue to a Mag float? $13 in this hobby is nothing.
 
The Kent scraper you purchased is excellent if you use the stainless replacement blade. The plastic blade is for acrylic and gets dull very quickly with the coralline.
 
The paint scraper I bought is exactly the same thing as you showed, Difference is price, when it says aquarium, Dealers/Manufacturers raise the price 70%.

Almost what I have below a little smaller, Works great.

You are kidding right? How is that exactly, or even remotely similar? The product I linked to is a device that you glue to a Mag float. You scrape the glass of Coraline the same way you use a magnet cleaner. You are not holding a metal paint scraper in your hand up to your armpit in saltwater trying to get to the bottom of the glass.
 
Yes I suppose you could glue it to a mag float. Saying it is "exactly the same thing" is a bit of a stretch.
 
I actually purchased and tested the easy-blade from sjm's link above. It is AMAZING. As sjm said, it works better than expected. within minutes my glass was crystal clear.
