Removing/Killing hairy shrooms

Well; I can't believe I paid money for these at the beginning of my reef adventure (over a year ago).

I liked them for so long... And honestly I don't mind them; but their adventurous and destructive tendencies have to come to an end. Caught one trying to eat heads of euphyllia the other day.

So...

How do I kill it? I have tried scraping them off but it's not quite working.

If you can take the rock out and apply some H2O2 and a scrub with a toothbrush it will disaggregate. Follow up with kalk paste and it will not return! It may sound like overkill, but I have found it effective.

I had the same problem a few years back. The looked cool at first, but them they started to spread on to other rocks and up over other corals.
I ended up using kalk paste to kill them.

I had one and my biocube accidentally went up to 95 degrees. They disintegrated along with a lot of my other coral. That could be one way to kill it in another tank by itself of course.

They are hardy bastards and come back from even the smallest piece left.!selling the rock with them is the best method. :-)
