Removing mini carpet from overflow

I have a mini carpet in mt over flow and it's too far to reach out. What can I do to remove it. Need to break down tank.

If there is light getting into the overflow you might be able to cover it and make the nem climb up looking for the light.
Idk, I've never had this happen so it's just a thought.

I will try that... Before the nemo was on top but some how got through the "teeth of the overflow and it's now a residence. I will try to block the light hopefully he doesn't go into the sump
