Hello guys Im starting another build,
My previous tanks was a 120g, and a 45g cube.
This time I'm going with a 60g cube rimless.
I will be posting pictures as I go with this build.
For now I have the tank, stand, and skimmer.
Lights are on the way, should be here by Saturday hopefully.
Since I didn't find a sump that I like, I'm going to make my own, that is already on progress.

The Sump is pretty much done. Its a 15g I wanted to keep it simple. its almost the same setup they make on Eshopps.

Unfortunately I will not be able to place the sump side ways, it wont fit.
I still have lots of space on my left side for the future reactors.
Here a couple pics with the skimmer.

Nice build. I love cube tanks and this one looks like it's on it's way to be a nice one.

One thought I had was are there any unions on the return plumbing? It appears that from your bulkhead you have it going to the ball valve, then to the pump. Think of service down the road as you'll have to cut out that pipe to remove it.

Our stand is a bit tight but you can make it work like you are.. Looks good. Are you putting your tank on plywood? I went with 1/2" plywood and 4 of the mats that Mr Aqua sells to distribute the weight evenly. I went back and forth on it but in the end they said would you rather spend a few bucks and have the piece of mind that it's being supported across the bottom evenly or just risk it! I went to Home Depot and had a 24x24" cut.

I never tought about it! You dont think its safe? Now you make me thinking lol...
It looks secured when the tank its on the stand... I dont like the fact that the center has no suport... I dont think it would crack. Do you?

Most framed aquariums have little to no support on the bottom. I don't think the wood on the entire bottom of the tank is necessary.

Agree. I do A lot of wood work.. In time when any wood gets water or moisture over the time it can swollen and that can make the glass crack. I think.
That is not a place you can clean, and in a period of doing water changes, moving rocks around, in time the plywood can make the glass to crack... if swollen.
I'm not 100% sure about this.
