Renton's Upgrade

Hey if you are interested I have a monster calcium reactor collecting dust on a shelf. I think it holds close to 25lbs of media. I have the controller and cylinder, but it will need a new probe and circuit pump.

Got the camera out for some pictures for an upcoming frag swap. Part of the reason that I have slacked on pictures is that I built a new computer and I dont have adobe lightroom on it to correct the white balance and such. Well, adobe's newest version of lightroom is subscription based (yuck) and would have to be the third time that I would have to buy it in the past 7 or 8 years. So, I downloaded a program called Darktable and this is the first time I am trying it out.

I have gotten into serious tank upgrade planning. I am shooting to switch out the current tanks and install the new tanks in late July/early August.

Part of that planning involves selling the display tank/stand/sump and the frag tank/stand. If anyone is interested in these tanks let me know!

FYI,
Display
72""x30""x22"" AGE with stainless steel bracing, non-starfire
72"x30"x36" Steel Stand from AGE - Skinned wood has a 4 to 5" ledge around the front and sides making the overall length around 82".

Stand has a pvc tray in it to contain spills up to a couple inches.

My new tank plans are:

Display Tank & Stand
108" long x 40" wide x 26" tall
Front Panel - Low Iron glass

Black vinyl background
Ghost (or similar overflow) with removable weir

4 Returns drilled in back, 3/4"

32" tall Aluminum powder coated stand

Frag Tank & Stand
60" long x 30" wide x 18" tall - Peninsula Style
No Star Fire
Black vinyl background
Ghost (or similar overflow) with removable weir
2 returns drrilled in back, 3/4"

30" tall Aluminum powder coated stand

I did get 4 x 100 gallon rubbermaid stock tanks that I plan to plumb together as a system in my family room as holding system. It will allow me to keep certain coral and fish separate and space things out during the transition with one tank being the filtration and such.

We are going to tear the carpet out of that room and put down porcelain tile up to where the current tanks are. Then when I tear down the current tanks we will finish the floor in that area and then install the new tanks.

I have a bunch of willing (and unwitting) volunteers that are forming committees for the various phases of the project. There will be a light rack building/hanging party, a rock structures building party, tank tear down party, tank plumbing party.

Sounds like a good reefing party is about to go down!

That will be beautiful tank. Who is the manufacture?
Do you think the porcelain tile wont brake under the weight of the tank?

A friend of mine had a guy build him an 8ft down in FL and was very happy with it, so I am looking to use him.

As long as the tank is not dropped on the floor I am not worried about it breaking :)

Great move on the shorter stands Nathan.............it makes tank management so much easier. Who's making the stands?

These tank manufacturers that all make stands 36" tall are doing no one any favors.

If you need another pair of hands for anything let me know.

I love the height of my current frag tank both for maintenance but also the look down. Love stopping the pumps and taking a look from above. I am planning on using the same guy who built Bubbaque's new tank to build the tanks and stands.

Very Quick Cellphone video update. I have a new GoPro, perhaps I should play with that later.

Slightly longer, no prep videos with the GoPro :D. Might be able to tell that a frag swap is coming up soon.
