Renton's Upgrade

Some plumbing progress.......kinda sorta looks like we know what we are doing....at the very least is it much more efficient use of space for the plumbing then on my last build:

Did Amber decide to let you open your own aquarium shop? Lol.

Some people have brought up why not just keep the old system running in it current location and the new system. Put a coffee table with 3 swivel recliners in the middle of the room and it would be the coolest thing ever!

Amber will no longer allow those people in the house.

100 gallons and counting in the tank!

Awesome, stoked to see the final product in a short while when you get some corals and fish in there!

I am using these strainers on the closed loop drains to try and keep fish and other critters from getting sucked down. I am stuffing them with this course mesh and using zip ties to keep the mesh from getting sucked into the pump. We will see how that goes.

VCA Random Flow Generators will be on the returns. They are nice in that they have no moving parts.

I had enough water to get the closed loops running. Still playing with the settings but I kind of like the closed loop gyre option at the moment.

Busy day, lots of progress. Got 99% of the plumbing done. The only thing remaining is finishing the closed loop on the frag tank but it is plumbed to the closed loop ball valves so I can shut them and the tank is water tight.

I am filling up the tank! The display is almost full, then I need 90 gallons for the sump, 110 gallons for the frag tank and another 30 gallons (I am guessing) to fill all the pipes, lol.

Sump is getting close to full. I have another 50 gallons in the freshwater holding tank, just about ready to fire up the display tank return!

I just added a couple ball valves so I am going to give those some time to dry. Hoping to fire it up at 5!

The 5pm return pump test revealed 2 issues. One......On one of the returns I dripped glue into a gate valve and sealed it shut!! Fortunatly, the other two on the return pump distribution work fine and I can run the system until a new gate arrives.

I also missed gluing one connection, thankfully I just got new tile flooring!!!

I will give the return test another go in an hour or so.
