Replacing 9010 skimmer impeller with another

Hello,

Wanted to ask about skimmer 9010 impeller. I like skimmer's work, however, I really doubt if it's impeller is really good for skimming:

I mean that all serious skimmers are using absolutely different impellers, like needle wheels and so on. even the same tunze has another type of impeller, which is looking much better, imho

So the question is - could I use this impeller on 9010 skimmer? Is it suitable?

Oooh good question. If it's compatible and helps the 9010 perform better I will get one ASAP!

The 9010 is a venturi skimmer, it is too small for a needlewheel and cannot work with a needlewheel. We have already done extensive testing on this and it is not possible. If the 9010 is run with a needlewheel, air will eventually displace all the water in the skimmer and it will stop working and the pump will run dry. The impeller you show will not fit in a 9010 pump.

The pump also would run dry?

It wouldn't do anything as it is a venturi skimmer, the air is added after the impeller, not before.
