Replacing overflow bulkheads and standpipes

I have had a 125 (6 foot) aquarium sitting around for a while, so I set it up for my kids. The gaskets on the standpipes looked really old, but I tried them out anyway. Two of them fail the leak test, so I thought I would just buy new plumbing for the overflows.

The two corner overflows each have two 1.25" holes. This would mean I need 1.25" bulkheads right? I see 1" and 1.5" offered in Durso kits, but no sign of 1.25".

Finally, does anyone know of a good place for pre made overflow plumbing? I could make them myself I suppose, but thought it can't hurt to look at the designs.

Look like you need 3/4" bulkheads.
Schedule 40
3/4" 1.050 (OD) 0.804 (ID)
1" 1.315 (OD) 1.029 (ID)
Best way to check is to take a 3/4" pvc pipe and try to see if it fit into the old bulkheads.

Is the actual hole 1-1/4"? That would be somewhat unusual in that that is the hole size for a 1/2" bulkhead, very small even as a return for your tank.

Are you giving the hole size in the bulkhead or the tank?

The actual hole in the bottom of the tank is the exact same size as 1.25" pvc. That's how I measured it.

The old bulkheads accepted 1" pvc inside (which was the bottom part and flowed down to sump) and was threaded 1.25 on the outside (which I used to use to screw on 1.25" pvc for the overflow to the sump).

I used to use the bulkheads via the outer threads and flex pipe. This time I used the inner part of the bulkhead with 1" pvc to the sump.

I see! you measure the holes using a "1.25 pvc pipe".
So 1.25" pine diameter is 1.66". This is your holes size.
You need 1" bulkheads then! see BRS supply Bulkhead dimensions

1" ABS Bulkhead Slip X Slip Dimensions (see diagram)
A - 68mm/2.67"
B - 63mm/2.48"

When tightening them be a shade cautious: too much force can crack the glass. but you're right---getting new and lively seals will be a good idea.
