woaw, ssbrref, these images are amazing! I love the black background contrasting with the vibrat colors! fantastic! and the details... can't tell how impressive the focus is!

I submit my own, although they are much more "in the blur"...

kactusficus, thank you very much. If your shots where any sharper and cleaner(less noise) they would be much better than mine.

hi everyone!

Got another one as well...

Thanks for the comments on the former ones, it was done with a panasonic FZ30, where ISO400 is the highest, and quite grainy, that's for sure... though I like these images, in a kind of David Hamilton's way, not very naturalistic, more artistic...
But I'm so amazed by the clarity you get ssbreef! Can I ask what's your lens?

well, that's my new one (with new D200 and new Sigma 105 f2,8... very happy!!!! :D :D after 15 years of photography, I finally get the photo gear I want to work with!!)

well, it's a first try, but I like it! Just have to learn how to get more light from my slave flashes, and that could work soon!

SSBREEF, your images are simply superb. Love the clarity and detail in them. Was flash used? I am assuming yes, just curious though.

Thank you very much!. I'm getting better at this with the help of some people on this forum such as gregr and blazer88 sharing there experiences and techniques with us all. Follow the advice these guys give and it’s easy to get great shots.
Yes, flash was used

FishGrrrrrrl,

They aren't the greatest images, however if you're interested.... It's an injured mandarin (right side). I believe it was a fish bite that was in the process of healing, it may have been infected. When a cleaner shrimp discovered the wound it was all over the mandarin, non stop trying to pick at the bite wound. The mandarin was dead by morning... sigh..
