The idea of comparing the bulbs that have been tested is a good idea. Just because a bulb is labeled 10K or 14 doesn't mean that it really produces that color. Depending on the ballast you use, the bulb can shift in color quite a lot. I've had great luck with clams under 14K bulbs, though smaller clams definitely fair better under a lower K in my opinion.

Bagedtaco, that tank is awesome. Finally someone who has a clam tank! I would love to know everything about your tank. I use 20k's and my clams to just fine plus the colors are great.
