Ok i have just ordered one of these resun wavers if i do away with the controller box and wire the pump straight into a transformer which is 24v DC 1.5A will it work at full speed constantly?

Is that the correct specs the pump needs?
FYI, you can buy one without the controller for $20 less.

Do you have a link for that?

I tried to find it, but this is an even better deal. If shipping wasn't so much, I would get it myself. link

Yeah, I know, but I couldn't find that one again. This one is cheaper than the constant stream that I found before, so I linked it. I bought mine for $100, now they're $65. Amazing.

Any chance you can have another look for the constant stream link?
anyone else seen these pumps available as a constant stream?

Mine works sometimes as a constant stream, not supposed to. only been using it a month too. I'll take a look at the controller and I see it stuck on one of the settings. I simple unplug for a while and then plug everything back in and it works again as its supposed to.

They're built very poorly and work very poorly, also very big!

Any more updates on these things? Has anyone done any tinkering with these? Would be cool to use for a wave box or use the Tunze controller on it.

Seems like a tunze 6060 would be a better investment, I am plugging mine in with the new 110V plug tonight, I will let you all know what I think of it.

I just ordered one last night. So I guess I'll find out what there all about soon.

Everybody that has them, how are they working?

It sounds like your Resun Wavemaker is behaving like mine was when I first got it.
Mine would run for hours and then all of a sudden it would stop. I'd unplugged it a few times and it would start again. Turns out one of the parts on the circuit board had pulled out from the bead of solder that was holding it on. I think when I did the unplugging trick all I was really doing was moving the controller around enough for the part to make contact with the circuit board.
I re-soldered the part and the wave maker has been running constantly for weeks.
Might be worth opening up the controller and having a look at the parts and how they are attached to the board. It should be pretty easy to figure out if any of them are loose.

Well, I hooked mine up and it is running as it suppossed to. The flow is very wide, and not near as direct as the Tunze.

I have a hard time believing this thing moves as much water as advertised, but I have not tested it, so I am by no means an expert.

Well, I have this and 2 tunze 6060s going in my 120 so one thing I do have is flow!!!!!

That was my question, I had a hard time believing that this Chinese engineered DC pump can put out nearly 4,000gph at 25W, when the Tunze 6100 does 3,170gph at 45W and the Vortech does 3,000gph at 35W.

The max flow of this pump should be more or less around 2,500gph, not much to brag about with the large size.

However with DC pumps like this one, can you simply use a bigger transformer to work with the controller and come up with more flow? If so will that cause any problem for the DC motor or the controller?
