Retreating carpets?

After 8 days of looking fantastic, my new blue gig started to crash. I am on day 2 of the cipro treatment and it looks nice today.

Once through the treatment and if successful and placed back in the display tank, how common is it for a gig to get sick again and need retreatment?

Thanks,

Bob

After treatment they're pretty hardy and should not be getting sick again

Yes you can retreat them, I did this several times successfully. Jamie is right, they should not be getting sick again. While you retreat, re-evaluate the DT it came from, or the conditions you put it into. It most likely got sick again from not meeting it's needs (too low flow or water quality is IMO most likely a culprit). I had water quality issues from rotting algae in the DT that only affected a couple out of a group, they all don't react the same to all conditions, some do better with lower flow, some will not tolerate low flow, etc... #1 goal at all times is 100% of the time inflated, no deflates - ever. Smaller at night is ok, flat and floppy is not ok.
