return and closed loop questions

I am planning a 38 gallon (36" long) with a 29 gallon sump / fuge. I am planning on building an exernal overflow and installing a closed loop. I would like to not have any powerheads in the tank.
I have a Mag 7 left over from an old tank, and a brand new Poseidon PS4 pump that my dad had laying around.

I have been thinking about building a mainfold of PVC around the top of the tank with 4 outputs for the return. I am debating on using the Poseidon as the return. I am not sure if it will be over kill. I know that the flow is massive for a 38 gallon, but I am thinking that the 4 return ports in the manifold will tame down the flow some.

Also, I was thinking about running a carbon reactor, and later a calcium reactor off of the same Poseidon PS4 and just looping that back into the sump to keep pumps to a minimum.

I also need advice on a closed loop pump. I plan to run a SCWD, and have each side spilt into a "Y" with two lockline returns.

What size holes / bulkheads do I need to drill? How about for the return pump in the sump?

Any advice, or guidence would be great! Thanks!
