If my pump has a 3/4 outlet and I hook it up to run through 1/2 pvc, would that restrict the flow?

from what i've been advised, the concensus is to reduce it at the last possible point (ie...the bulkhead going in the tank, etc)

Ok. If that is not possible, would it be bad for the pump and decrease my maximum gph?

Not bad for the pump but will reduce the flow.

What pump do you have?

I don't have one yet but I have all of the plumbing for 1/2 return and there is a guy who is selling an OR2500 which has a 3/4 outlet.
