return pump and overflow?

I am thinking of getting the:

Mag Drive 2400 GPH Pump w/10' Cord (Supreme)

as the return pump, and using the:

CPR CS150 Overflow
Flow rate 1600 GPH.
10" wide
1.5" bulkhead fitting

in a 39gal food safe plastic container to put my Skimmer and heater under my cabinet.

Does his sound like an ok setup?

What are your thoughts?

Thanks

PS Guess I should add that the distance from yjr floor to the top of the tank is about 4'6"

Return pump is too big
CPR overflows are horrible

What size is the display? The 180G?

I really need to get a skimmer going, it's been up for nearly 2 months now with only 2 Emporer 400s left over from FW tanks and a couple power heads.

I already bout the ASM G-3 skimmer, just want to get it skimming, nothing fancy, no refugium, none of that just skimming the water

Thanks

Generally..... return pump flow should be 3 - 5x display size. An Eheim 1262 would be a really nice return pump for a 180. For an overflow, Lifereef are the best in the business and are FAR more reliable that a CPR. A single would be a stretch to handle the flow of a 1262. The dual would do it easily and give you a wider weir for better surface skimming. Another option is use two of the singles and spread them out.

Glad to help. Good luck with it!

You know....with a setup like that with a G3 skimmer...you could go with a single LR overflow and an Eheim 1260. It will work fine too.

LOL oh great I just ordered the 1262.... anyway I am going to get the single LR overflow and idf the pump is too much ( although I think with the headpressure loss it should be ok) then I'll install a valve to turn it don some till I can get another Overflow

The Eheim pumps are very strong. They dont cave under head pressure like other submersibles. If the single LR can handle it, I'll be impressed! How do you plan on plumbing the pump?

i really dunno I was going to just run a 3/4" hose from pump to tank. Got any good suggestions? It doesn't look like the eheim has a connection that would allow you to use PVC but I dunno for sure.
