Return Pump Recommendation

Looking for a return pump to replace a Mag 9.5 for a 50gal DT and 15gal sump, that also runs through a chiller. Needs to be quiet, low heat transfer, and able to connect to a 3/4" PVC manifold. An Eheim 1262 would be my first choice, but I can't adapt to the metric fittings. Any suggestions?

Water Blaster pumps are very energy efficient for pumps of its class. I'm not sure what the output PVC sizing is, though. But I'm sure there are adapters you can purchase from a LFS or online.

Go with the ehiem. Awesome pump. Can you use a short section of flex tubing to connect the two? Might even cut down on vibration too--not that there is much. Sort of like a shock absorber...love my ehiem! I want one just to mix salt with!

I'll second the Eheim recommendation....very quiet.

What other flow do you have in tank? I think a 1262 would be too much on your tank unless it is (a) your only flow....(b) t'd off to other devices....or (c) you have a lot of head to account for. If none of the above I'd look at a 1260 or even a 1250 which is what I have on a similar sized setup

You say u cannot adapt the fittings ? Have you tried already ?
I have a 1260and it uses 3/4 fittings . It is not externally plumbed .The 1262 should be the same way . I have never tried to connect one externally .

I really like my Sicce Syncra 3.0 so far. It is more efficient than a lot of pumps, quiet, powerful and had great features. You should check them out.

Heat is directly related to power used, they are the same. 100w pump is the same as a 100w heater stuck on all the time.

If heat is a concern I would go with a smaller pump. Ehiem is my fav for smaller return pumps. Very reliable. The 1260 or 1250 are the two I would go with.
