return question on a pump

i picked up a mag950 a few weekends ago, and finally got a chance to get it in the tank today....and this sucker is obnoxiously loud. there's a 'rattle/click' that sounds like the prop is hitting something making it louder than is tolerable to be in the same room with

i've taken the output shroud off, and there's nothing in there obstructing the prop...it's not scraping up against the shroud itself...so i have no idea what is causing the noise (if it's just the prop, or if there is something in the motor assembly making noise)

...which leads me to my question....

is obnoxious loudness enough reason for a return...or are mags just this obnoxiously loud?

also, would not having the box any longer be a problem?

Yes, obnoxiously loud is NOT common for those pumps and should warrant a return.

It looks like you are in Lafayette, was this an in store purchase during our walk-in hours? If so, do you still have your receipt for it? If so, just bring it in to us and we'll swap it out for you. Danner Mfg. mandates that all warranty goes through them, however since you just fired it up we can swap it for you.

yep, i'd picked it up on a saturday, and i still have the receipt

i'll drive down this weekend and get it swapped - and likely blow even more money on toys ;^)
