Clowns are pairing off, one has been doing the little seizure thing but it has stopped. I feed twice to three times a day reef flake and fry brine shrimp

The aquamana 160 is a cheap but workable LED light.
Im going to retrofit a old 36 inch t5for the aquarmana internals
Add 4 white 10w LED chips
*Remove 2 of the 3 noisey pc fans
*Add more heat sinks

Very nice dude, but why on earth are you feeding 2 - 3 times a day? All that will do is increase nitrates. Feed your fish every other day, or at most once a day.

Honestly every tank is different. I have a FOWLR 55g with just a protein skimmer. No sump or anything. I feed them twice a day, and honestly vary rarely do WC's , and my nitrates are always at 0 (have tested with several dif kits because it suprised me too). My algae is not out of control on that tank either.

I believe the clowns have chose there sex,

Ones alot bigger than the other and more aggressive,

Same feeding regimen 2-3 times daily,

Switched over to ro/di

Moved some rocks around during a water change.

I need to get on the additional LED's.

I need some advice on when i can start thinking about a anemone.
Any Advice?

I never understand the notion of light feeding, I would way rather effectively export nutrients via the multitude of different options available versus starving my fish. It is absolutely possible to have a low nutrient tank and still properly feed your fish. Some of the best looking tanks I see on here will sometimes feed their tanks 4+ times a day and maintain TOTM quality tanks.

Samsies. I'd feel bad feeding less than a couple times a day. If my nutrients start to get out of hand, I'll figure something out.

Still Here

Still Here

Clowns still haven't laid a clutch, but they are definatley paired.

Did some maintenance today and my hermit Hercules molted Hes getting huge!
He's now using a land hermits shell

I'll post more pictures later
Removed the canister it ended up just being a nusance
Added a coralife 65g skimmer

Haven't started on LEDs yet.
Aqumana LED 160w dimmable is still going strong despite the reviews.
This unit is waterproof so im wondering if the reviews are from users that had a open top.
*Added more live rock and removed alot of crushed coral

my paired clowns spawn twice a month . Its almost Like Clock work. there first time was when they were in the tank for about 6 months.... Not sure if any of the eggs are ever viable. Where they spawn at is OUT of reach without harming rock work and moving corals....

Nice tank.....

Mine lay eggs every 13 days, been raising clowns for 3 years now, very fun.

I suggest you get the book clownfishes by joyce wilkerson if your wanting to breed clowns, great book with great tips on getting them to start breeding and how to raise the fry

I should get the book. Im going on 8 months nothing yet. I feed multiple times a day. prime reef flake, mysis, blood worms. Besides the hermits they're the only fish in the tank. Water changes every week.

Should i add a tile or terracotta flower pot?

I have a 46 bow front. Would switching restart the whole pairing process?

Are they better off in the 20g long and starting the 46 bow front and pick up another pair of clowns to switch?
