Returning to hobby need updated guidance

Hello all,
Been a few years but covid finally led me back to the hobby this time with my kids.
I have a 40g innovative nuvo with a kessil tuna blue light. Vortec 10 if needed and live rock in the front (lots). Salinity is 1.025. Water is 2 days old.

What's missing:
No idea what to put in the back for filtration.

I have: (but have not put in)
porous "œballs" that look like live rock
crushed coral substrate and no idea how to use
Black sponge like innovative filters with a housing and light
Lots of small live rock
Bucket o carbon.

Do I need a snail urchin starfish or shrimp yet?

Objective: Rockin Lps corals with a clam and maybe a fish or 2

I am considering offloading the tuna for a new g5 radion 15.

Feedback on anything is appreciated.

If you are using live rock inside the tank, leave the back for a protein skimmer and a bag with carbon. Wait a couple days to see ammonia and then Nitrite spike to check the tank is cycled. Order a saltwater test kit off of Amazon for PH, Amoonia, Nitrite, nitrate. Also i'm guessing you added "œlive rock" that had dried out. That means they are no longer live so Amazon also has a product called Instant Ocean Bio-Spira, buy the 75 gallon one and pour half in the first day and half the third day and you will be set! The light is good enough, that is a great light. Simple really, the bio balls that look like live rock could be used if you want to keep a lot of fish but are unnecessary with a large amount of live rock.

Good luck
