wow, thats a first. submit it to zoaID. jeremy will put it on the "oddity" gallery ;)

no idea what it is, other than looks like to be some mutant tentacles in the skirt that just grew out of control.

possibly male zoas? lol

I've seen some lps do that sometimes from uv poisoning, did you just upgrade your lighting, or change them over from a tank with different lighting?

I don't know what your Zoa is doing but whats the BIG PINK THING moving in to attack your tank ???

Ahh attack of the killer coral hand!

One way to make pictures a little more personal is to get a little bit of blurry finger in it!

Whatever it is, clearly you need to sell it on ebay for some outrageous price per polyp. I can see the ebay listing now: Ultra RARE RHINO Zoo!!! Tame this BEAST in your Reef Aquarium!!!

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the replies, sorry about the late response, I'm over in the UK.

The Rhino tentacles started to appear when it was positioned here, after a reaquascape of the tank and the tubes in my 54w T5s where changed.

The abnormalities have kept going for some 4 months now, so the change seems to be relatively long term.

The Pink Object/Hand, is actually an out of focus Plerogyra.

Will look at posting on ZoaID/Oddities

Thanks for looking - Trev

Maybe its like the frogspawn where a bubble forms before it splits. Just a guess. Either that or they have been very bad and are growing horns :)
