Rhizotrochus care

Finally!

Finally!

Well I finally got a couple of shots of my baby Rhizo. ACIII freaked out in a storm the other night and the halides came on for a few minutes. So out came the camera!

Yes it is, just a small polyp. I'm trying to get a better shot of it but I re-arranged the tank yesterday and everything was freaked last night. The crown is about the size of the crown of my thumb, so small by Rhizo standards. No where near the size of many shown here.

New pic's soon!

reefknight,
If you are talking about the orange/yellow LPS in the middle of your pic I am 100% certain it is not a Rhizo. If I had to guess it is a Dendro.

Very nice, but not a Rhizo.

I agree. It does not have the root-like structure at the base that Rhizotrochus species use to attach themselves to substrate. I vote Dendro as well.

Wow u guys got some really nice ones! Well i got mine and a dendro a couple of weeks back for $150, good deal or a bad deal?

WOW!!!

Thats looking great already man congrats!!!

And yes, I would have to agree probably the only rhizo in Mexico! ;)

Keep him well fed, and I'll have to shoot you a PM when I come south of the border next to check him out! :D

Oaksy, awesome rhizos! I especially LOVE your orange one!

I have mine in half shade half light in a bit of an overhang with a low to moderate flow over them which they seem to like!

Whats the best position for these to be in?

Keep more than a year but never notice the growing of size . Maybe not feeding often :p But the root have been attach and encrusted onto liverock so not able to take out already ...

They are really slow growers; you should notice a growth ring around the lip of the top edge eventually. We fed squid and they really loved it!

here are mine
