rhodactis ?

I have a overcrowded rock full of green rhodactis shrooms

recently they have been looking kind of crappy ,they are a few on the rock that are in like a figure 8

i read somewhere that when they split they form this shape

they have that white string looking goo coming out the mouth
and they appear to be ripping in half


some of the ones that aren't ripped also got that white string.

any thoughts thanks

is splitting stressful for them?

Are they ripping or splitting? When mine split they leave a clean rounded edge, not ripped. The white string stuff is their gut, They expell it occaisonally for no good reason, or if theyre stressed, if all of your shrooms are doing it at once, Id say its stress, and not good. Any pics?

they aren't all pucking just a few ,i had this happen a while back with these ,and they recovered ,all else in the tank is fine ,sps,lps,
softies,clams, even the other shrooms,its just the rhodactis that look like bad,

is there aggressiveness between 2 different rhodactis mushrooms?
there are two different types that are close to each other ,and maybe they aren't getting along,
has anyone had issues with GFO media and shrooms i added a phosban reactor last week and that's the only changes to my
tank ,the mushrooms had been doing great for about a year

I believe some phosphate removing chemicals can bother mushrooms. I know I've read it somewhere, but can't remember where.

I know my rhodactis didn't like it when I had them in a higher flow area (not high flow, but it was still too much for them).

I was out all day and didn't take any pics will do so tomorrow,
just got in and all water parameters are perfect


one other ? there are two different types of rodachtis close by
they both look well, not as happy as they used to look,i did some rearranging and tried to get all my shrooms in one area ,since then my 2 rodachtis shrooms have been looking sad,and some blue shrooms that were close to them look kind of bad too,

maybe there something going on ,with aggressiveness is this common between shrooms,i don't really know too much about them because ever since my tank has been stable every shroom that's been it the tank has done great

im thinking that's got to be it ,because they where doing good before them being close to each other,

kind of sucks because i really like where they are
