Rhodes19 180 Build

Here is a picture of the rockscape from the left.

Here it is from the right.

Straight on.

Not quite what I wanted. I had planed on having hight points at both ends working down to the center and have a little "trail" between the 2. I also wanted to make the piles with stair steps so I would have plenty of ledges to place corals on. After looking at it, it appears to be very compact looking and does not have any big open holes/caves for bigger fish to swim through. I'll have to take it down and start over this afternoon when I get back from recovering my daughter's car. It won't start and the parking brake is stuck on! :mtool:

Ok, second try for rockscape. This time there are some bigger openings for the bigger fish.

I'll play more with it later.

Dun, ta, ta, taaaa!!!!

Rock and water is in and the pump is turned on!!!

Now for some pictures.

Here is rockscape version #3.0. My wife helpped :)

With Actinics.

The right overflow pipe stand is flexuating about and inch or so. I'll have to play with it.

Here is the left side. Its spot on and not fluxuating.

Here is the skimmer section. There is a lot of bubbles coming out of the pvc and is noisy.

Here is the heater in the fuge area for now. I need to find a better place to hang the control.

I need to get some more salt to put in the tank but I will have to do that later this week. Once the salt is in and the temp is up I'll add some live rock I have collected over the past week or so and put them in along with a deli shrimp.

well I guess my reply was a lil premature......LOL

Looking great Rhodes! Are you going to gave a DSB in the fuge along with some live rock and cheato?

Great

Great

Rhodes, the tank looks great!! I especially like the way you arranged the rock. Looks like version 3.0 is a winner!! I am currently getting ready to start a 180 so I will be following your progress. Thanks for keeping us all updated!

Thanks Dolphin. I think I will go bare bottom with the fuge and just add cheato. I may put in some rubble for extra pod production and filtering.

Hi Matt,

Thanks. We spent some time sitting in the kitchen and just staired at the set up. My wife likes how the light shines through some of the holes in the rocks. Wait until I get some real lights up there. :) It was almost overwhelming. The biggest tank I have ever had up until now was a 55g. Have fun with your 180 build. I know I have enjoyed mine and have learned alot in the process. Have you started a thread yet?

Ok, its been 24 hours since the heater was turned on and the temp is 76 deg. It started yesterday about this time at 64 deg.

Very cool! So you will be adding your Live rock and shrimp soon to begin your cycle!

I am dying to get my tank ordered, just gotta wait for my banker (Wife) to give the go ahead! :lmao:

LOL Yeah, I have to get approved my self on big issues like that too.

Once I get the salinity and temp right I'll start to add the LR and shrimp. Hoo hoo!!
