Rhomboid swimming problems

I recently purchased a pair of rhomboids from my lfs who said he got them from liveaquaria wholesale. After a few days they experienced swimming problems such as spinning around in circles and sorta "falling" in the water and letting the water push them around. They'd eat but shortly after they died. All the other fish in my tank are doing. Anyone know what's up?

They are deep water fish and that sort of behavior you witnessed is a result of decompression issues. They diver who caught them didn't take the time to properly decopress them as he was coming up. Unfortuntely this is all to common with deep water fish. Tony

Are there any sellers that sell quality rhomboids then? Or have positive feedback on their rhomboids? Seems like the rhomboids from liveaquaria are having similar issues according to another post I read.

Im not sure if he is still getting them but Les at Wet Pets Hawaii sent me an awesome pair. Live aquaria as far as I know gets their fish from quality marine. This however does not pertain to the divers den. They do however have a 14 day guarantee which they stand by very well. Hope this helps Tony

It was from my LFS, so no. =\
It's been about 3 weeks now anyways. I'm going to try Les but from what I've been hearing he just moved facilities.

I received 2 females last August 5th from Bluezooaquatics which went into hiding for 3 days but on the 4th day both came out eating and been swimming out in the open ever since. Both gets along and never seen them bother any other fish.

I got a beautiful pair last spring from Mike at nyaquatic. They are doing very well. I also got a pair of flame wrasses- same thing. The prices are better than anywhere else and Mike has a 14 day guarantee also.

I am surprised more people have not heard of him.

They have but he gets mixed reviews.

I can only tell you my experiences- I have got about 10 fish from him- one exquisite wrasse did not make it- I asked for and received a replacement a couple of weeks later.

Mike can be reached by phone or e-mail.I remain a satisfied customer. I also like Dr. F and S and the others, but his prices are incredible.
