Rhyzo eating a fish

Well, my daughters new fish didnt make it....but she got 2 and the other is doing great.....but.....i did complete the circle of life....i dont think my rhyzo will be hungry for a while. here is a step by step as my large rhyzo eats a 4" Bartlett Anthia

what do think this fish is thinking?

Pretty neat. I'm surprised it could get it's mouth all the way around that. Even the end picture it looks like the tail still isnt in, but that is still quite a feat.

Did it eventually envelop the entire fish?
 
yep, about ten hours later is spit out pristine skeletal remains...no flesh of any kind left on it...which would lead me to believe, it liquifies its prey pre-digestion.
 
Well my flasher wrasse got stuck in the overflow...recovered him...wasnt doing well...this morning...he found himself inside my rhyzo...here is whats left when he was done...

Pretty neat... just basically skeleton and the harder material in the head.

Too bad you dont have a shot with more depth of field, I'd like to see the detail down the vertebrae.
 
ok that reminds me of my Yellow Tang being eaten by my Blue Carpet Anemone.
I tried my best to help that poor tang but the more I tried to pull it out the more it got sucked in. I can't imagine thousand needles pain, such a sad story. I hope this is the worst that reef-keeping has to offer.
