ric fragging/multiplying question????

i have a couple orange ric frags and they are not multiplying like my green ones i had in my last tank a few years ago. i got them to fill in some spots on the LR and it just isnt happening. how do you get them to spread across the rocks?

tried that. these guys are holding out. i dont know why. doesnt make sense to me. the one on the left keeps saying "headache" but i think we all know better...
