Ricky's 120 Stony Coral Garden

Yup, I have all of the supplies. I just have to get the skimmer running before I turn on the ZEOvit reactor.

I am going Zeovit as well...not sure how much of the system I will incorporate; but I dont want is pastel colours...I am after the great colours the system offers and want to try to keep the colours deep...:worried: I've got the Zeolites, Start, spongepower and zeobac. These are the 4 I'll be using for a while.

Same here, I was never a fan of the pastel colors. I am mainly switching to have low phosphates and nitrates. I am going to use 500mL of ZEOlith rocks instead of the recommended 1L, if I get the pastel colors I will increase my amino acids dosage as well as my nitrates.

I wanted to give everyone an quick update. The tank is coming back together slowly; I lost a few fish and coral in the process but I also added a few exotic fish that I cannot wait to add to my display. I have all of my original fish back in the display tank and I did end up adding a shallow sand bed (Tropic Eden Reefflakes). So far I am very pleased with the ZEOvit products. My phosphates are testing at 0.02 ppm (Hanna Checker) and they have never tested that low no matter how much GFO I used. I have a few new fish in quarantine and I am hoping to add my corals within a month. There really isn't much to see so I will not be posting pictures until everything is back in place.

Since there isn't much to show in my display tank yet here is a picture from my frag tank.

I run four ATI Blue Plus, one ATI Coral Plus, one ATI Purple Plus and two ATI Actinic Plus in a TEK 8x54 watt T5 Fixture. I do not run a protein skimmer but I do have macro algae growing and two fish living alongside a few snails.

I was wondering what fish are useful in a frag tank,...that help with coral maintenance? Thanks,---Rick

I have a Tailspot Blenny and two Banggai Cardinals with the hopes they will breed and the babies survive since there is no protein skimmer.

I see thanks...any thoughts...fish that might go after nasties in case something gets past quarantine process. just wondering :)

The corals have been in the tank for two months are beginning to encrust and gaining color. The Mystery Wrasse has developed a strange red bump on its lower lip, I am not sure what it is.

Shake rocks daily
Twice per week
4 drops of ZEObak
15 mL Micro-Lift Special Blend
5 mL Brightwell MicroBacter7
4 drops of ZEOfood7
4 drops of KZ Sponge Power
4 drops of KZ Amino Acid Concentrate

Current parameters:
Temperature: 79
pH: 8.1
Salinity: 35ppt
Alkalinity: 9.3 dKH
Calcium: 430
Magnesium: 1240
Potassium: 430
Phosphate: 0.11

I am running ROX 0.8 carbon and GFO passively in a mesh bag in the sump.

Like the frag tank things looks healthy. U said you dont run a skimmer what do you use just waterchanges.

I do a water change once a month and dose amino acids. I only have two small fish an rarely feed so the nutrients are never a problem.

Subscribing to watch ZeoVit system in the works.
I'm at early stage of a 65Gal SPS only tank (Frag starter).
Been having Low Nutrient problems (Corals fading, Very Slow growth), but started to improve with some Zeovit Coral Vitalizer, plus amino acids. (Plus more fish feeding, and more fish)

Just a suggestion to skip the Food7 and just get yourself a small bottle of coral vitalizer. The Food7 has aminos and you are just doubling up if you already have AAHC

Thanks, how is the Coral Vitalizer different? I thought that also had amino acids in it? What would you suggest for trace elements? I was looking at Fauna Marin Ultra Organic Trace Elements.

I also tried Phosphate Rx (lanthanum chloride) and it has not lowered my PO4. Any suggestions as the GFO doesn't seem to make an impact either.
