ricordia and clams group buy

I would like to see the interest out there to put together ricordia and/or group buy together. I would like to use Clamsdirect.com for the clams and I have no idea for the ricordia. I have seen people get a frag pack of something like 20 ricordia from a place online (I will research to find out how they did this and form who). Again I'm just seeing the interested out there. I know when I lived in Boston this summer group buys where hugeand I never had a bad a bad experence. Just figured we could make them bigger here. Oh yes on a side know Barry at Clamsdirect gives free shipping on orders of 10 or more. Also you do not have to worry about sending money to me they will accept the payment to them and then ship all of the clams together. The earlist this could happen out be Friday Jan 21st. I will be in Israel for a few weeks coming up soon. Happy reefing everyone and happy holidays. Location of pick up would be Akron, OH.

I'd like a clam. Keep this thread alive with details. I always have really high calcium in my tank water. 470+. I don't think that hurts anything. A clam will bring it back in check. I'll have to learn how to feed them.

If you get a clam that around 3" or bigger you will be fine with feed doesn't require much then. I had a 3" and now a 8-9" one. By the way is there anyone that might be interested in my big one? He outgrew my 29g a long time ago. :rollface:

Right now I'm in contact with some of the reefers from Boston. They are putting together a ricordia group buy from a dealer on ebay. I'm going to see how it goes. There is always www.etropicals.com which seems to be not to bad maybe a little expensive but very trust worthy. I will do some more research in the coming week. Maybe see what Phishy and Salty Critters can do for us. I will get more information as soon as I can but right now it is finals week for me at UAkron so time is tight.

So far it looks like they never went through with the group buy from the ebay place. I have a friend in MA who is selling his rics and is interested in shipping. I will get more detrails when he gets back to me. It seems that most of the group buys in MA were from www.etropicals.com they would buy a pack or the green and a pack of the blue. This might be the place we order from unless people are interested in ebay.

I just noticed something, he has a statement saying for orders over $300, he pays the shipping, yet he has the shipping costs esitmated at $35!

it's a little over $6 per polyp if we got a higher count of polyps... ???

Maybe I"m reading the auction wrong. Isn't it $400 for 50 polyps?


I have to believe that a LFS can get in quality ricordia polyps for us around that price if the volume is right. (and still profit) Maybe not though...

I know a few of you were interested in my clam. It was just sold thanks for the interest everyone. But the clam group buy will happy in Jan b/c my tank is going to feel empty untill then so I need a few news one asap!!!

Yeah, I was just breezing through it real quick and I thought the 9's were 0's! But's it's still about $8 a polyp which isn't too bad.

Here is an update on the group order. I should be ready at either the end of this week but more likely the week after for the group order. I just got back into the states after 2 weeks of being in the middle east. My tank needs a little work and should be all ready by then. Please let me know if anyone has any questions. I would like to do the clam order first if that is ok with everyone if not well ok I started this so yepo. Once again the pick up will be at my place basically on campus of UAkron. Please let me know if anyone has any questions.
