How long does it for Florida Ric's to spread and grow? I have one polyp. I have had it for about 2 weeks now. Just wondering when it will spread :rollface: Thanks!

it will spread when you cut it in half. They are slow growers in my experience

Only 1 Person? And I wouldn't think cutting it is to natural. I'm Looking for Natural growth. All these people have Rics and no one knows how long it takes for them to grow?

I've found the LESS you cut them and stress them out the quicker they multiply in the long run. But if you're impatient then cutting is the way to go. I wouldn't do it after only 2 weeks though... may be too soon.

I forgot to add: Growth rates vary GREATLY for each color morph and each individual ricordea for that matter. I've found that green and orange ric floridas grow fastess.

I say if they have more than oen mouth, cut it. They heal pretty fast that way.

I thought that at first too. But all of the Rics I've cut (which is more than half of them) have all grown at half the rate the others have that I didn't cut and now the number of polyps of each are about the same, the difference being the uncut ones are twice the size. I think there might be something to it.

I think rics with multiple mouths are planning to split on their own so they grow at a faster rate somehow. It's just a hunch though. It could just be that the ones I haven't cut just happen to be very fast growers.
