Right Acropora for the right place

I am looking for a Staghorn type sps coral for my five year old mixed reef tank for a particular sport in the back upper left center of my mixed reef tank which has three sps caricornous montioporas and one encrusting montiopora, two lps/brains, goniopora/two zooanthus, three mushrooms, two large palythoa rocks.

The area I have selected is a 2 x 3 inch area on the upper side of a piece of live rock about 10" to 12" under the surface of the water just under the back right end of my left 150 metal halide bulb glass cover.

I am looking for an SPS acropora type of coral which will grow outward and upward with a branching look. Maybe something like coral which will look almost tree like with a main short bottom stalk branching out and up.

Sounds like a green slimer might fit the bill. Here is a shot of mine. This has grown from a 2" frag in about 16 months.

+1 on adding a green slimer. They are not a difficult or demanding SPS and from my experience are very hardy. It does grow very quickly with proper conditions, i consider this a confidence booster for SPS keepers

how bout a piece of this one in the center?

Its a lot like the green slimer in form and slime production but its purple. Will put some frags up in a couple of weeks in for sale forum so.....

Very nice.

My tank is now rather full especially when everybody grows out and I can sit back and dream about the perfect SPS for my opening which both of these seem to fit the bill.

Thank you.
