firebretha,
i'm thinking about getting a similar tank form Glasscages, how was your experience with them? I'm going for the 80g cube, starphire glass on three sides with no rim. It looks like you choose the black silicone, is it better? or just for looks? good looking tank by the way, can't wait to get mine!

Add me to the Rimless club....

90g (36x24x24) GlassCages rimless, starphire front and sides, black silicone......

I'm downsizing from a 180 to try to same money monthly on the electric bill so Im going to be selling off all my 180 stuff to offset the costs and Ill also get my monthly payments down....

Should be fun once its up and running... Im shooting for it to be functional mid-November. :bounce3:

Who are some of the better rimless tank builders?

I was looking at AO, but the phone number doesn’t seem to be working and emails have gone unanswered.

Glass Cages is just a day trip away to avoid shipping costs, but I’m not sure if they can produce what I’m looking for.

I would like a 60Lx30Hx24 rimless, 3 sided Starfire, external trough overflow running the entire length of the tank and enough holes to convince a Wisconsinite that it’s actually a big shiny hunk of cheese. Of course, black silicone and very high quality.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I would rank these builders as the best in this order: AGE, Elos, Miracles in Glass, Leemar.

I have a GC Rimless and its OK at a great price, but probably not the quality you are looking for.

Thanks James - I hadn't considered Elos because I wasn't sure if they did custom tanks. From what Ive see so far, not may builders like external overflows and Im not sure why. I spoke with Miracles today and they are going to get back to me with pricing.

I also never knew Leemar was ranked up there. My current tank is a Leemar custom 4ft 120 eurobraced, but it probably close to 10 years old. My only complaint with it is that I didnt know enough about plumbing and pumps when I had it made...

Does Oceanic make a smaller rimless tank? I was hoping to find something around 24" wide and wasn't sure about GlassCages, although I'm going to do some more reading on them.
