Rimless Aquarium Club

Nikesb- how do you like the 12" height? I'm thinking of a 36"x36"x12"h, I have the acrylic to build it rimless. I also have the option to go 16" high, what do you guys think?
It'll probably be a clown/anemone tank.

by the way, the acrylic is 1-3/16" thick.

if you plan on having no sand 12" would look perfect imo. but with sand i think i would've liked it better if it was 14"

Looks awesome.. Hope to see some more pics soon. Could you PM me a link to your build thread as well.
I with I had room for one like that. Are you worried about things getting into the vortechs?

i am not worried about things getting into the vortech, unless the vortechs are so fragile that it will break, i have no expereience using them so i have to learn the hard way :D you got PM :)

WOW nice tank and fixture. You dont see enough of those. What happened to cause the partial crash?

Thanks a lot! I had a power outage which reset all of the programs on my controller to default. This made my dosing pumps run on light cycle programs and my lights run on heater programs, etc. This caused an alkalinity overdose, salinity got out of hand, lights stayed on 24 hours, temperature dropped - all bad things.

Right as that was happening a fish jumped out, which happened to be my wife's favorite one so I replaced it for her. Unfortunately, during this time I had taken down my QT set-up and just put the fish in. It had ich and caused an outbreak that burned through my fish faster than I could react.

Although at a significant expense, I learned a couple of valuable lessons.

that stealth is... for lack of better words. Awesome.

Tank looks really good too.. but the fixture makes me wet my pants.

My new frag tank build :)

Now I have two rimless aquariums.

Here it is clamped together with spacers.

There's actually eight of them in there. They stick together.... especially when spooked. For the most part, they get along.

Rimless Club,

I have read many threads for DYI rimless Starphire glass, but none has mentioned about tempered Starphire glass. Is there any good reason not to temper the glass?
Should I assume you all have tempered your glass?

Thanks
