Rimless Aquarium Club

That is an overflow with return plumbed inside. I tried to build it to have as little visible obstruction while having views from all four sides. The only tech you see inside the tank are my two MP40s.

ordered rimless from miracle, recieved today, had trim on bottom very dissapointed, was not aware you have to order trimless, :mad2:

Set-up only about 2 weeks ago:

FTS1-1.jpg

Elos 160xl

how long is your tank in inches and how deep is it? And how long is the fixture you are using and what bulb/bulbs or combo of bulbs are you using at what wattage. I love that look of your tank and I plan on doing the same with mine, well not exactly but similar. I have a 72" tank that I would like to hang a 48" ATI 8 or 10 bulb fixture over it. I've been told that it wouldn't work but that was from a lfs that wanted me to buy a 1400k lighting system so go figure what they were after($$$....) anyways it looks like your getting plenty of light at all corners of your tank and I like the almost shadow that the shorter light makes on the edges. Obviously the set up I am considering will work as it is working on your tank and your tank looks a lot taller than mine.

aquarium is top quality, not saying anything bad about miracle, just upset with my self for not knowing

That's good to know. When I asked about rimless tanks and the trim, they did mention that there was a bottom. Was ruling them out as I didnt like the look myself.

Hi all,

Just a few images from my new system.
It is a ZEOnano9020 (all-in-one 20g system)

More info etc will be posted in my thread in the nano section and on my site when I get a chance

I figure i'd stop here to ask the experts. I'm in the market for a rimless tank...120g to be exact. Even more so, 48x24x24 - three side starphire.

The shipping/freight is blowing my budget. Miracles and AGE hit around $1650, 400 or so of which is the shipping.

Any advice as far as other builders go? I live in Ohio (Cincinnati). I considered driving to Toronto but they end up charging 13% tax. Between gas and the tax it's not worth it!

I just stumbled upon the coast2coast aquarium builders...looks like they have a 10% off free 3/4 starphire upgrade. Whats the word on these guys ?

Coast2Coast in my experience is crazy money. Second only to Elos.

I just bought a 48x30x18 4 sides starphire, and Bulkheads shipped to MD from Miracles and it was 1260.00. I guesss the extra 6" adds up? Have you considered GC?

Really? I guess that 18" really shaves off the price, maybe because it only needs 1/2" glass? The 48x30x18 is just under the 120g I am looking for but it is also 400 cheaper!!!

How deep is your WATER? I am guessing 16" ?

I am not considering glass cages, you get what you pay for. I don't mind paying for quality, slowing investing in the best equipment I could buy has thus far paid off big time.

Logzor I wasn't even thinking of glass thickness. That's where the extra cost is from.
I will measure my water tonight but I think your spot on.

phone pics arent the greatest.......washer & dryer had to go - tank moved in
