Rimless Aquarium Club

that's a beauty logzor. an mp60 is going to blow the fins off your fish in that size tank!! :) good dimension choice - 48" will give you plenty of lighting options and 30" of depth is going to make all the difference for aquascaping.

How did you find the build quality of Miracles?

Yeah I'm really curious to see what happen with the MP60! Hopefully I can run it such that I won't need any other powerheads. I think it only ends up being 50x turnover, I usually run higher than that. Perhaps it will have wide enough flow that I can get away with just the MP60.

Regarding the build quality, I really don't have a lot to compare it to but I think the build quality is superb. Everything looks fantastic. I'll be able to tell better when the tank is up and running with water/lights.

very nice logzor! badass looking sump too.

what are your plans with the 4 drilled holes on the bottom?

I changed my mind on overflows after the holes were already drilled. I decided to go with glass-holes overflow because there is no footprint in my tank, just on the back glass.

I was going to put in a 2 drain/1 emergency drain overflow (can't think of the name at the moment) but it was going to be gigantic so I nixed it.

I am VERY glad I went with glass-holes it will give me a ton more room to work with.

Perhaps in the future they will be used for a closed loop or something. For now they will be plugged. On a side note, do the plugs screw all the way into the bulkheads? I can't seem to screw them in very far at all....notice in the pictures how far they still stick up.

Personally since I have an MP-40 in my 46 gallon and still have less flow on the opposite side of the tank I think you should have went with 2 Mp-40 then 1 MP-60. You will have much less flow on the other side. Nice looking tank anyway.

Yes you are correct but I figured it would be really cool to have an MP60. LOL

I've give an update how this ends up working out..

+ 100 Beautiful tank logzor. Similar dimensions to mine. 2 Mp40s will definitely do the trick for you and you can place both on one side or on the back panel to get great flow all around the tank.

Hey guy im doing a build on a 25 gal mr aqua cube and had a question. I have a 4 bulb t5 fixture. I have the hanging kit but am kind of short on time and patients with this project right now. I was wondering if any one had there light sitting on top of there rimless with the legs that some with the light. or is it dangerous to put the extra stress on rimless.

Thanks
Matt

Hey Logzor, how's the glass-holes overflow treating you in terms of noise?

I'm still putting the stand together so I won't know for a couple of weeks. From what I have heard once they are running for a month or so they become near-silent.

Just finished mine!

Been running for 3 weeks now without lights. Will be going ZeoVit on this tank and will add the zeo reactor next week along with the basic 4. Still need to add the two vortech's and program them to my WXM module.

JG,
I noticed you live in nj and I am getting to do a bigger build. I'm waiting to hear back from miracles on a tank with similar dimensions as yours. Do you have a build thread? I'd like to get your thoughts on the tank...likes and dislikes. I'm also considering the same light fixture as you.

the frag tank is a 20 tall
and the display tank is 60x24x18 120

:thumbsup:Nice tank. I love seeing people other than Miami/South Florida locals ordering tanks from Felix at Reef Savvy. His tanks are second to none and when you combine that with his PR/customer service you are happy to see other people with a tank built by him, like myself.

Steve,

No, I don't have a build thread. I'm pleased with the way the tank turned out. They drilled the wrong size holes for my return line bulkheads (1" instead of 3/4"), but I was able to find 3/4" bulkheads that would work with the larger hole. That's really the only complaint I have with Miracles...well Derek isn't too good with returning emails, but...

Quality of the tank is really good.

The Lights, I like a lot. The PM is really nice and I'm glad I went with it over the sunpower just for aesthetics.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. U can PM me if you like.

John

Here is my 60 gallon starphire rimless tank I just finished getting set up this past weekend. I am still waiting on the light to be in stock so I can complete the shadow box for it.
